Treatments of Eczema

How A Detox Can Begin Healing Eczema

When I took my first detox several years ago, I was scratching and rubbing my eczematous arms like crazy. It was totally embarrassing, especially in public. Sometimes I scratched so hard, my skin would to bleed. But everything I tried to cure my eczema was useless.

Anyway, I learnt of a new eating plan from a work colleague which would heal my bloating problem. I decided I would follow the diet for a few days. To get started on the new way of eating I first needed to follow a three or four day detox.

I read the basic outline of the detox and followed it religiously. Over the three day period I witnessed a remarkable difference in my energy, in how I felt and the condition of my eczema.

With regard to my eczema, I noticed I no longer had the urge to scratch uncontrollably. Yes, I still scratched occasionally but it wasn’t so intense and the urge lasted a for about five seconds.

I also noticed the condition of my skin dramatically changed. It was getting smoother and tighter and it wasn’t so dry. Also my wounds were healed so there were no open cuts or bruises. I don’t remember the last time my skin looked so healthy. It hadn’t totally healed but it look great. And finally, I felt calm, and more relaxed.

The skin acts as a mirror to what is happening inside. My system was congested and needed cleansing. The skin, alongside with the kidneys and liver is an elimination organ. One of the skin’s jobs is to excrete large quantities of wastes such as water, salts, uric acid, ammonia and urea. When the liver or kidney is overwhelmed and not able to function properly skin complaints such as eczema may result. This is because the skin is having to do more work than is expected.

A detox is designed to ensure that all the organs of elimination, including the skin are fully functional and in good working order. Following a detox brings many benefits, e.g.:

1. It increases your energy levels. In the case of eczema energy is required to make ‘repairs’ to any damaged or scratched skin.

2. Your intake of highly beneficial nutrients is dramatically improved. These nutrients give the body much needed fuel for repair and maintenance.

3. It will rid the body of toxins and free radicals the presence of which prevent the body from efficient self-healing. A well nourished body will health itself naturally.

4. It will enhance circulation and dramatically improve your immune system.

For a short period of time your body will receive a combination of foods that are alive, full of vitamins, enzymes and trace minerals. By following a detox you will bring your skin and body into total balance.

Any detox diet you following should contain only fresh fruit and vegetables, juices, herb teas and water. These foods are full of good nutrients and will totally transform your skin.

As I said before following a detox is a very good way to start the eczema healing process. For me I began to see benefits within a few days. By following a detox you give your body the chance to self-heal and repair, the way its supposed to. Follow your detox for three to seven days. You will be amazed and the benefits.

Happy cleansing.
